Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 from 6:00-10:00p.m.: Cherry Point Public Hearing at Whatcom County Council Chambers, 311 Grand Ave., Bellingham, WA. After two years, the Whatcom County Council is moving forward with new policies for Cherry Point. We’re moving beyond temporary moratoriums to implement lasting policies that can prevent the oil refinery shipping docks at Cherry Point from converting into crude oil export terminals. We need the public to weigh in on these new policies, and the current moratorium is set to expire next month. A presentation on the Cherry Point legal study will be held at 6:00p.m. and the council meeting and public hearing will begin at 7:00p.m. Send a message to the Whatcom County Council at council@co.whatcom.wa.us today urging them to extend the moratorium and join us at the public hearing! More information can be found on the RC calendar page and Facebook.
